Job Description

The Federation of Romand Enterprises (FER Geneva) is the reference employers' organisation for companies in the canton of Geneva. Within our structure, the Legal Assistance and Advice Service (SAJEC) assists its members daily with all questions relating to labour law, social insurance and work permits, as well as the administrative management of cross-border personnel and international mobility issues thanks to the lawyers of the Cross-border and International Division.

Reporting to the Cross-border and International Division of SAJEC, you will work on complex cases, notably concerning:

• Management of issues related to business travel, secondments, expatriation, including work permits and social insurance obligations.
• Expertise on multiple activities within the EU and EFTA and support on risks and obligations related to teleworking of cross-border workers (mainly social and tax aspects).
• In-depth analysis of international and Swiss taxation, tax domicile, permanent establishment, changes of tax residence country, and retirement in a cross-border context.
• Provision of advisory services in the form of legal consultations and analysis of specific cases, telephone helpline.
• Design and delivery of corporate training primarily aimed at Human Resources, organisation of information conferences on current topics, writing articles.

Profile sought

• Holder of a Master’s degree in Law (a dual Swiss and foreign degree, preferably French, is highly appreciated).
• Proven experience gained within an international company, law firm, or specialised consulting firm.
• Confirmed expertise in social insurance and international labour law. Knowledge of company law and a good understanding of tax issues related to employee mobility is an asset.
• Fluency in English is essential (legal level). Mastery of French is indispensable.
• Additional assets: Bar admission, Specialist certificate in social insurance.
