Career Information Officer

Welcoming: At the Career Information Centre BIZ, you personally and by phone welcome our clients and are their first point of contact.

Advising: You conduct information discussions and, if necessary, refer our clients to the responsible specialist offices.

Supporting: You support the team in a variety of administrative and organisational tasks and contribute to smooth secretarial operations.

Experience: You bring solid professional experience, good M365 knowledge and enjoy working digitally. Ideally, you have experience in reception, a library or secretariat and are interested in labour market and education topics.

Personality: You are characterised by a positive attitude, think in networks and act independently, proactively and with foresight.

Education: You have training in information and documentation, business / commercial or a comparable qualification and have regularly continued your education. This role is also suitable for motivated and skilled career changers.

The Secondary Schools and Vocational Training division of the Department of Education Basel-Stadt is responsible for a wide range of educational, advisory and support services at upper secondary level. It is committed to high professional quality of teaching at grammar schools, specialised middle schools, bridging programmes and vocational schools. In addition, it also supports higher vocational education and adult education offerings and assists young people and adults in their career planning. This work makes an important contribution to the educational landscape and the promotion of skilled workers in Basel-Stadt.

The career, study and career guidance service advises and informs young people and adults free of charge on all questions relating to career and study choice as well as career planning. We work closely with schools and referring agencies and operate the low-threshold Career Information Centre BIZ.
