About the job
Plant operators operate and monitor production and packaging systems in industrial companies. They rectify faults and malfunctions or carry out minor repairs on the machines. According to instructions, they plan production processes. By expertly setting up and adjusting the systems, they ensure maximum utilisation and productivity. They are responsible for the quality of series production and ensure that the products comply with regulations and customer requirements.
Plant operators often work in teams. In many places, production lines and systems run 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The professionals then look after their machines in shift work.
