Data Management Specialist for Rankings & Accreditations (m/f/d)

Your tasks

Support ranking activities and ensure data quality

• You prepare ranking data, validate and analyse it, and take on the operational processing of ranking submissions.
• You coordinate data deliveries with internal departments and ensure a timely and high-quality data basis.

Support accreditations based on data

• You prepare key figures, indicators and evidence for national and international accreditations.
• You support accreditation reporting through the structured preparation and maintenance of relevant documentation, standards and proofs.

Translate data into decision-making bases

• You develop and maintain meaningful dashboards and reports with Power BI.
• You consolidate data from different sources, prepare it and ensure its quality and consistency.
• You create target group-appropriate analyses and visualisations to support quality development and data-based decision-making processes at HSG.

Your profile

Required

• University degree (Master’s): preferably in social sciences, economics, educational sciences, data science, statistics or a comparable field with a focus on empirical or quantitative methods
• Experience in ranking, accreditation and/or quality assurance processes in the higher education context or solid experience in handling research, higher education or educational data
• Solid BI/data skills: Power BI (data modelling, dashboards), data preparation (SQL, advanced Excel), data quality
• Ability to turn data into target group-appropriate decision-making bases
• Very good German and good English skills

Advantageous

• Advanced BI knowledge (e.g. Power Query, Python or R)
• Experience with higher education or educational data (ranking, survey, publication data)
• Experience in the higher education environment

The Quality Development Service Centre of the University of St.Gallen (HSG) is part of the Quality and Sustainability division within the Vice-Rectorate for Innovation and Quality. Our tasks include conducting accreditations, supporting ranking activities, further developing and implementing evaluations, providing monitoring tools, analyses and reports for programme management and informed decision-making processes, as well as ensuring linguistic consistency. With our services, analyses and information, we support well-founded decisions, make developments and successes visible, and promote the continuous development of HSG.
