About the job
About the ITI
The ITI (International Team for Implantology) is the world's leading academic community in implant dentistry. Founded in 1980 and headquartered in Basel, Switzerland, we are an independent, non-profit, member-led organization uniting around 25,000 Fellows and Members across 40 Sections worldwide.
Built on four pillars — Science, Education, Leadership and Membership — the ITI sets the global standard for evidence-based education and has invested heavily in research that improves treatment for patients everywhere. Our purpose is simple: inspiring global excellence in implant dentistry for the benefit of the patient.
The opportunity
Are you ready to shape how the world learns implant dentistry? As Global Head of Education, you will own the ITI's education strategy and — in a small, entrepreneurial team — build and deliver it personally. This is a senior leadership role for someone who is equal parts strategist, builder and doer: you will set the direction and then roll up your sleeves to make it happen, every day.
You will keep the ITI the leading global authority in implant dentistry education, scale our education business and partner ecosystem across university-based and private education, and grow the number of clinicians educated to the ITI Curriculum standard. You will also guide and support the high-profile volunteers of the global ITI Education Committee, co-creating strategy and content priorities with dentists and academics from dental schools and private practice alike.
What you will do
Strategy & portfolio — own it and build it
- Set the direction. Develop and deliver the global education strategy across university-based and private education, aligned with the ITI's mission and growth goals.
- Own the full portfolio, hands-on. ITI Curriculum, University Program, Treatment Guides, ITI Academy, study-club and partner content, congress and course content.
- Expand undergraduate education. Lead train-the-trainer programs and a stronger service offering for universities.
- Grow the partner ecosystem. Build and roll out a partnership program for private education providers to spread ITI content and standards.
Committee, volunteers & stakeholders
- Be a trusted advisor. Act as sparring partner to the Education Committee and its Chair; prepare decisions and co-create direction with these high-profile volunteers.
- Energize the network. Motivate and coordinate ~40 education volunteers worldwide who drive education in local Sections and countries.
- Connect across the ecosystem. Work closely with education colleagues in subsidiaries and Sections, and with KOLs, universities, providers and industry partners — including Straumann.
- Represent the ITI. At congresses, universities, partner meetings and scientific events.
Content & learning — personally in the detail
- Run the editorial engine. Own the end-to-end process for educational content: editorial, video, e-learning, presentations, courses and events.
- Raise the bar on learning. Drive quality and consistency across in-person, blended and digital formats, and strengthen learning design and outcome measurement.
- Grow the ITI Academy. Develop our digital channels to increase reach, engagement and active usage, and shape the agendas of congresses and study clubs.
Operations, budget & performance
- Keep operations running. Own the underlying processes — editorial, course management, partner management and governance.
- Hold the numbers. Full budget responsibility for the portfolio (top and bottom line); develop and recommend the budget to the CEO, and own pricing and partner models.
- Track what matters. Define and report on KPIs — learners and graduates, education touchpoints, active partners, active platform users and CSAT.
- Lead the team. Build and develop a small, hands-on, entrepreneurial and results-oriented education team.
What you bring
- Experience. Min. 10 years in professional education in healthcare (corporate or comparable not-for-profit), with min. 5 years leading people in complex, global, matrixed organizations.
- A track record of results. Driving learner growth, engagement or partner impact through education — with hands-on experience producing content and running programs, not only overseeing them.
- Domain depth. Dentistry or medical devices preferred; digital learning, university partnerships or professional societies a strong plus. Experience building education partner ecosystems is valued.
- Strategic and entrepreneurial instincts. The business acumen to build education models and sustainable portfolios, and the bias to action to turn vision into scalable execution.
- Stakeholder confidence. Diplomatic, persuasive communication with executives, scientific experts, volunteers, universities and industry partners across cultures.
- Craft and judgement. A solid grasp of learning design, digital/blended learning and outcome measurement, plus strong editorial judgement on scientific, medical and educational content.
- Education & languages. Bachelor's or equivalent in business, education, dentistry, healthcare, life sciences or a related field. Fluent English (further languages an advantage); willingness to travel ~20%.
