About the job

• Responsible for case management and advising asylum seekers and refugees. Conducting client interviews, initial counselling, assistance with everyday problems, conflict resolution, mediation and arbitration
• Coordinating, clarifying and referring to specialised agencies for issues beyond own responsibility
• Developing and implementing measures for social integration
• Taking responsibility for the completeness and correct physical and electronic file management. Taking responsibility for correct data entry / modification / case documentation
• Supporting asylum seekers according to cantonal standards and internal guidelines. Calculating and paying support benefits according to applicable standards and the subsidiarity principle. Preparing and/or correcting quarterly accounts as well as maintaining accounting lists and tables
• Preparing decisions with legal remedy instructions for integration measures. Checking decisions prepared by the administration
• Conducting monthly home visits (if relevant)
• Ensuring communication with clients and other authorities. Collaborating with other internal departments

• Completed training in social pedagogy / social work (HF/FH) or equivalent qualification
• 0 to 1 year relevant professional experience
• Cooperation and teamwork skills
• Empathy and sensitivity in dealing with people from diverse backgrounds
• Ability to independently implement social interventions
• Basic and user knowledge of MS Office applications
• Impeccable reputation (no entries in debt enforcement and criminal records)
• German | spoken: C1 | written: C1
• English | spoken: B2 | written: B2
• Additional asylum-relevant language (advantageous) | spoken: B2 | written: B2
• Driving licence category B for passenger cars required.
