About the job
The "University Medicine Zurich" (UMZH) is the network between the University of Zurich (UZH), the university hospitals in the canton of Zurich, and ETH Zurich in the field of medical research, teaching, and care. The UMZH Director is also a member of the Directorate, which, together with the Dean and the Deputy Dean, is responsible for the affairs of the Medical Faculty (MeF). The Directorate is supported by an office as well as the Finance and Personnel department.The Finance team MeF/UMZH currently comprises three employees under the leadership of Finance & Personnel MeF/UMZH. The advertised position is to be newly filled.

Responsibilities
Independent fulfilment of the following central tasks together with the team:
- Controlling and operational support of the ordinance on research and teaching of the university in the health sector (VüFL)
- Handling of financial processes (budgeting, multi-year planning, forecasts, annual financial statements) of UMZH and MEF for the centrally managed areas
- Support of the decentralised units, as well as consolidation of financial data
- Sparring partner for the financial managers of the service institutes of the MeF
- Analysing, preparing, and commenting on the financial data of all areas
- Development of financial strategies and support in their implementation
- Further development of processes, tools, and templates for more efficient task processing
- Project participation and management
Profile
Higher business administration education (e.g. expert in accounting and controlling, university/fachhochschule level education)
- Several years of solid professional experience
- High solution- and customer-orientation with very good communication skills
- Diplomatic and assertive personality
- Precise work, independent prioritisation, and forward-looking action are indispensable
- Very good analytical and conceptual skills for the further development of processes and instruments
- Good SAP FI/CO and very good MS Office skills, especially Excel, are required
- Confident expression in German (spoken and written), good English skills
- Assumption of leadership tasks is conceivable depending on qualifications
