CARITAS Thurgau is the specialist office for poverty issues in the canton of Thurgau and offers people in challenging
life situations various support and counselling services.
For our specialist office Debt Counselling/Debt Restructuring we are looking for from
1 November 2026 or by arrangement two committed
Specialists (50% and 60%)
Your tasks
- Conducting counselling sessions as well as clarifying and implementing debt restructurings
- Cooperation with creditors, authorities, specialist offices and internal services
- Managing client administration/documentation using E-Case
- Willingness to participate in professional conferences and events related to the activity
- Willingness to conduct agreed counselling sessions in four other districts in the canton of Thurgau
- Giving presentations in cooperation with the bankruptcy office within the framework of the Thurgau debt module at schools
We expect (Professional)
- Degree in Social Work (FH/HF), or comparable qualification
- Good knowledge of the social landscape in the canton of Thurgau
- Professional experience in a counselling context
- Willingness for subject-specific further training
- Experience in debt counselling and debt restructuring is a great advantage

- High social skills with empathy for people in stressful life situations
- Resilient, mature personality with very good communication skills and problem-solving abilities
- Also able to maintain humour, flexibility and a cool head in hectic times
