As a Laboratory Technician Specialist QC Microbiology (m/f/d) in the "QC mEMT Kaiseraugst" group in pharmaceutical quality control, you ensure reliable and efficient microbiological environmental monitoring for our manufacturing customers at the Kaiseraugst site for the safety of our products and thus for the well-being of patients.

The perfect candidate: The perfect candidate holds a degree in biosciences (e.g. biotechnology, microbiology or bioengineering) and at least two years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry within a GMP-regulated environment. They bring in-depth knowledge of pharmaceutical quality systems, act consistently with a quality and compliance focus, and impress with strategic thinking as well as the ability to take responsibility and reliably achieve results. Through their structured, team-oriented working style and fluent German and English skills, they build trusting relationships and actively contribute to continuous process improvement.

Tasks & Responsibilities:
• Initiate and process deviation reports (DRs) and assessments including consultation with affected interfaces and QA
• Manage the end-to-end process from triggering the deviation after its detection through RCA and 5-Why to preventing further occurrence by implementing necessary corrective / preventive actions (CAPA)
• Plan, coordinate and document change requests for processes and methods within the unit
• Create and update test instructions, SOPs and other GMP documents
• Proper execution of special assignments as well as general laboratory and service tasks according to instructions from the Planning and Coordination Leader (PCL) or Unit Leads and their documentation according to current good manufacturing practice (cGMP) guidelines
• Ensure competent, efficient and GMP-compliant analytics by observing all relevant guidelines, SOPs, as well as regulatory and registration-related requirements
• Plan, coordinate and participate in cross-group projects within QC and with manufacturing customers
• Willingness to work on public holidays (occasionally)

Must Haves:
• Completed degree in biosciences, e.g. biotechnology; microbiology; bioengineering or comparable qualification (Bachelor or Master)
• Preferably 2 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry and in a GMP-regulated environment or comparable (e.g. as microbiologist; QA assistant)
• Expertise in pharmaceutical quality systems and standards
• Fluent German and English skills
• Taking responsibility, determination and achieving expected results
• Building trusting and successful relationships
• Very good organisational skills, strategic thinking and implementation of strategies into actionable plans
• Team-oriented mindset with a focus on continuous process improvement and the ability to deliver consistent performance

Nice to haves:
• Training/experience in microbiology and/or sterility assurance
• Strong understanding of quality and compliance and corresponding behaviour
