The opportunity
We are seeking a highly skilled R&D Engineer to join our Global Product Support Team and shape the future of our worldwide Surge Arrester portfolio. In this role, you will make a direct impact on building a more reliable and sustainable power grid.
This position goes beyond pure engineering — it requires strong stakeholder management, cross‑functional collaboration, and the ability to operate confidently in a global environment. You will work closely with colleagues from Sweden, India, China, Bulgaria, as well as with key local stakeholders from Supply Chain Management, Production, Operations, Quality, Product Management, and our R&D Centers.

How you’ll make an impact

Provide global product support (GPS) for our Surge Arrester portfolio

Elaborate innovative product solutions following standards, design rules, guidelines, and internal processes

Lead and/or contribute to R&D and GPS projects

Work with global R&D and GPS teams as well as Product Management, Supply Chain Management and Operations

Support on technical quality issue resolution.

Ensure quality of suppliers, production locations and parts

Create, maintain and release technical documentation: schematic designs, calculations, drawings, parts lists, configurators and instructions

Maintain product master data in our PLM (Windchill) and ERP (SAP) systems
Your background
-
Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or related

Proficiency in CAD (Creo, AutoCAD), PLM (Windchill) and/or SAP system

Strong teamwork skills with the ability to work independently

Experience in medium or high voltage surge arrester is an advantage
-
Project management experience is a plus
-
Openness to new challenges and a keen interest in learning and professional development

Excellent analytical and communication skills

Fluency in English; basic German skills are preferred, or a willingness to learn German
