Caritas Switzerland has been operating asylum centres for families, individuals and unaccompanied minors (UAM) at currently five locations in the canton of Zurich on behalf of the cantonal social office (KSA) since March 2024.
For the professional cross-mandate leadership and training of employees in day and night care as well as to ensure compliance with cantonal requirements and the concepts of Caritas Switzerland, we are looking for a committed and qualified reinforcement.
Your tasks
- Professional leadership and support of employees in the department across all transit centres and UAM centres
- Ensuring compliance with cantonal requirements as well as the professional foundations of Caritas Switzerland
- Participation in recruitment and support in personnel-related processes
- Promotion and further development of employees through training and professional exchange
- Further development and standardisation of processes and working bases
- Organisation and moderation of cross-location professional exchange
- Representation of the department towards internal and external partners
- Co-design of the strategic further development of the department
- Maintenance of an open, respectful and binding collaboration
- Cross-location and cross-service deployments
- Close cooperation with other department heads
- Cooperation with external agencies
Our requirements
- Sound expertise in the asylum and migration sector as well as several years of professional experience in the care of asylum seekers
- Very good knowledge of cantonal requirements as well as the professional foundations of Caritas Switzerland
- Strong communication skills and team orientation
- High social and intercultural competence as well as the ability to act appropriately and context-aware in the migration sector
- Independent, structured and responsible way of working
- Flexibility, resilience and confident appearance even in challenging situations
- Assertiveness and constructive handling of conflicts
- Good German skills as well as oral skills in English and ideally another language of the clientele
- Confident use of MS Office and digital work tools, ideally Tutoris
- Willingness to work across locations and services as well as a category B driving licence
