In the area of long-term care, adolescents and young adults live in residential groups with varying levels of supervision (from classic to intensive pedagogical/therapeutic) as well as in outpatient housing options.
The Rank Residential Group in Lausen BL is a socially pedagogical, residential long-term care facility for both genders. The residential group offers space for 8 adolescents and young adults who require a longer-term residential option for stabilization, reorientation, and development. Additionally, there is the possibility for two more adolescents to discover independent living in their own apartment. This more independent living arrangement is intended to support the adolescents in developing the "final" qualities and skills needed to cope with the challenges of economic integration (completion of training) and to thrive within the social environment. Just like in the residential group, these two adolescents are also cared for by their reference person from the WG and accompanied towards independence.
An existing daily structure (internally or externally at a school or training company) is a basic requirement to be admitted to the Rank residential group. The duration of the stay depends on the individual developmental steps of the adolescents. A progressive further placement, such as a transition to an independent apartment with low-threshold support, is possible and is pursued during the development process with the goal of integration and independence.
