The criminal police plays a key role in the fight against crime in the canton of Bern. It deals with the most serious crimes, supra-regional cases, and offences that require specific professional and technical knowledge. As the cornerstone of criminal police work, it sets the priorities, defines the technical direction, and is a sought-after partner by the judiciary and police services in Switzerland and abroad
Your tasks
- Lead the Criminal Police, which has nearly 400 employees, in terms of personnel, strategy, and operations – in collaboration with directly subordinate management
- Advise the commander and police leadership on all matters within your area of expertise
- Ensure the development of the division
- Lead projects across the police force
- Ensure budgeting and acquisition of technical equipment
- Actively participate in various commissions
- Work closely with the public prosecutor's office, criminal police of other cantons, and the federal criminal police
Your profile
- Extremely resilient, communicative, and trustworthy personality, with persuasive power, team spirit, and the ability to assert oneself
- University degree in law or advanced professional police examination
- Several years of experience in criminal police work as well as in managing operations, service, and projects
- Extensive leadership experience
- Ability to reconcile the different interests of stakeholders and to initiate and successfully implement projects
- German with very good knowledge of French
- Strong networking skills and confidence in a demanding environment
- Efficient working style
