Social Pedagogical Reference Person (80 %), Bennau SZ

Caritas Switzerland operates residential homes for unaccompanied minor asylum seekers (MNA Mineurs Non-Accompagnées) at various locations on behalf of the canton.

For the Biberhof center in Bennau SZ, we are looking for support in the social pedagogy team for the care of up to 40 young people. As a social pedagogical caregiver, you provide personal and age-appropriate social and integration assistance for these young people and are responsible for ensuring basic care.

Your tasks

Social pedagogical and psychosocial support and care for the young people within the framework of the reference person system
Development of needs-based daily structures and leisure activities for and with the asylum seekers
Support for minors in fulfilling their school obligations and attending official appointments (e.g. doctor)
Promotion of independence and establishment of a binding framework for communal living
Interventions in crises and conflict resolution
Active interdisciplinary coordination and planning within the team (including close collaboration with the trusted person/guardian of the minor asylum seekers)
External networking with partners and organizations
Co-responsibility for creating a good atmosphere in the house
Responsible for compliance with house rules and safety in the center

Our requirements

Completed recognized social pedagogical training (or equivalent)
Ideally experience in the migration sector and/or youth work
Good German language skills, knowledge of other foreign languages is an advantage
Intercultural competence
Willingness to work variable hours
High sense of responsibility and quality awareness
Initiative and independence as well as assertiveness
High resilience and stress tolerance
Good Microsoft Office skills
Impeccable character
