Security Platform Engineer (m/f/d)

Role:
If security for you does not end with the alarm notification but only with a sustainable technical solution, this role offers a challenging environment. You combine incident handling with system engineering, manage central security platforms, and actively shape their further development.
Responsibilities:
Incident Response & Analysis
You take over security incidents from the first alert to complete resolution and follow-up.
You analyse logs and technical contexts, identify risks, and derive concrete measures for sustainable improvement.
You ensure that technical and organisational insights from past incidents are incorporated into future operations.
Security Platforms & Operations
You are responsible for the secure and stable operation of firewall, proxy, NDR, XDR, and EDR platforms.
You administer and configure the systems and ensure their quality, monitoring, and continuous development.
You contribute to system engineering and bring your expertise especially in monitoring and patch management.
Engineering & Development
You evaluate new security solutions and integrate suitable technologies into the existing infrastructure.
You question established solutions and independently develop technical concepts further.
You take ownership of your systems and act as a technical sparring partner within the team.
Qualifications:
You have training as an IT specialist EFZ or a comparable qualification and bring several years of engineering experience.
You have practical experience in the cyber security environment and are familiar with modern security platforms from operational use.
You are proficient in Linux and have experience with incident handling, hardening, logging, and monitoring.
Ideally, you have already worked in a critical infrastructure or regulated environment.
You take responsibility, work independently, and consistently complete technical projects.
You contribute your own ideas, question existing approaches, and actively share your knowledge with the team.
You support and coach colleagues on technical issues.
You have an impeccable reputation, a strong security awareness, and the necessary willingness for the special conditions of a security-critical infrastructure.
You have very good German language skills.
