Burgdorf, the modern city in the Emmental
The Emmental city of Burgdorf represents an important educational center in the canton of Bern. At the municipal elementary school, around 1800 students are taught across five primary levels and two secondary levels as well as at several kindergarten locations.
Since the 2024/25 school year, the area of media and computer science at the Burgdorf elementary school has been specifically expanded and strengthened with additional resources. In addition to technical first-level support, the focus is increasingly on pedagogical support to effectively assist teachers in the didactic use of digital media. A dedicated and motivated SMI team works closely with the responsible authorities on the continuous development of digital support. The Burgdorf elementary school has successfully relied on Apple devices and Google products for years to make digital teaching efficient and innovative.
Because one of our long-standing specialists in media and computer science is retiring, we are looking for a
Your tasks
You advise and support teachers in planning and conducting lessons in the field of media and computer science
You work closely with the responsible school administrations as well as the SMIs of the other Burgdorf school locations and actively contribute to the further development of the media concept of the Burgdorf elementary school
You are responsible for the first-level support at your locations and work together with the IT specialists of the city
Your profile
You have completed recognized training as a specialist in media and computer science or are willing to complete it alongside your job
You have pedagogical skills and enjoy working with children and teachers
You work independently, structured, and solution- and service-oriented
You enjoy working in a team and are characterized by clear and appreciative communication
