Presentation
A postdoctoral position is available in the laboratory of Prof. Julia Esser-von Bieren at the Department of Immunobiology, University of Lausanne, Switzerland. The Esser-von Bieren lab investigates the regulation of innate immunity in type 2 immune responses (e.g. in asthma and helminth infection). A particular focus of the lab are macrophages and lipid mediators and their roles in inflammation, host defense and tissue repair.

Your responsibilities
We are looking for an outstanding postdoctoral candidate who is interested in studying the regulation of inflammation, host defense and tissue repair in the context of asthma and helminth infection.
The successful applicant will work with models of infection and inflammation and apply state-of-the art methods of biochemistry with a focus on lipid and cholesterol metabolism and immunology, including flow cytometry, single cell RNA sequencing, ChIP-Seq and imaging.
Your qualifications
The successful applicant should have a PhD in life sciences or related disciplines and a strong background in immunology, innate immunity, macrophage biology, lipid metabolism and infectious disease research. Candidates with experience in cholesterol metabolism and macrophage-mediated host defense are particularly welcome to apply. The candidate should have at least one first author publication in a high-ranking journal in this field of research. We are looking for a candidate that is highly motivated and self-driven, and able to work well in a team as well as independently.
Good communication skills in English (written and oral) are essential.
