The Recycling & Disposal department assesses and processes residue streams from our own production as well as from external partners. The environmentally sound recovery of these substances is mainly carried out in our own waste recovery and wastewater pre-treatment plants or in cooperation with external partners domestically and in neighbouring countries. To ensure resource- and cost-efficient handling of recycling and disposal projects as well as to assess chemical laboratory and operational procedures, we are seeking reinforcement for our team.
Chemical Specialist for Residue Recovery (m/f/d)
Your Responsibilities
- Assessment and categorisation of residue streams for their recovery potential, taking into account the following aspects
- Chemical compatibility
- Material flow and substance flow, timing correlations
- Economic criteria
- Ecology, logistics routes and ADR regulations
- Considered and goal-oriented communication with the external disposal market; active and relevant networking and expansion; contact with customers, service providers and authorities
- Maintenance of databases (ERP and interfaces with authorities)
- Participation in technical projects; determination of value chains and sustainable cycles including cost analysis; creative problem solving and identification of alternative recovery options; preparation of decision bases with evaluated variants
- Promotion of the circular economy: active contribution to waste minimisation; process optimisation and resource conservation; reduction of environmental impact through the development and implementation of sustainable recovery strategies
- Support of the administrative recovery process from external inquiry through to offer preparation and disposal
- Maintenance of official permits
Your Profile
- Chemical education from BSc level with completed vocational training in an industrial environment, solid knowledge of inorganic and organic chemistry
- Experience in industry and handling of hazardous waste from the chemical industry is an advantage
- Pragmatic, analytical and logical working style
- Confident technical documentation style
- Fluent German, additional national languages are an advantage
- High commitment, efficient and goal-oriented working style
- Strong communication skills and negotiation ability in an interdisciplinary environment
