The Cantonal Social Welfare Office, with over 280 employees, undertakes diverse, controlling and operational tasks primarily in social assistance, social insurance, social services and in the asylum sector at the interface between the federal government, other cantons, cities, municipalities and various private organisations. It also operates its own facility, tilia, based in Rheinau.
For the Asylum Coordination Department, we are seeking a Specialist in Asylum Care/Social Assistance or Deputy with Legal Responsibilities from 1 November 2026 or by arrangement.
Tasks
- You handle complex individual cases and enquiries from the asylum sector up to the issuance of decisions
- You provide professional advice to the various areas of asylum coordination and clarify process-related fundamental questions
- You answer specialist questions from municipalities in the area of support for refugees
- You participate in internal and cross-departmental projects and take on responsibilities for sub-areas
Profile
- You have a law degree with in-depth knowledge of social assistance law or asylum care orientation, or a qualification in social work
- You have professional experience in the fields of social assistance or asylum care, migration
- You are a resilient, proactive, service-oriented person with high social competence and a sense of priorities
- You are linguistically skilled and possess a quick grasp, networked thinking ability as well as a high willingness to learn and perform
