Head of the Postgraduate Emergency Care Study Programme
The CHUV Training Centre is seeking a Head of the Postgraduate Emergency Care Study Programme (EPD SU) at an 80% activity rate, under a permanent contract. The starting date is scheduled for 1 September 2026 or as agreed.
Context
The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is one of the five Swiss university hospitals. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, CHUV plays a leading role in medical care, medical research, and education.
The CHUV Training Centre coordinates all learning within the institution and offers a varied range of opportunities allowing professionals to update and develop their skills throughout their careers. It thus contributes to the excellence of services offered to patients and their relatives.
Nationally recognised by the State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation (SERI), the Training Centre notably manages the Postgraduate Emergency Care Studies (EPD SU) intended for nurses wishing to develop advanced clinical expertise in this specialised field.
Mission
- You carry out the teaching activities of the programme and support the professional skills development of participants
- You supervise and guide diploma projects, promote the integration of learning into practice, and participate in the monitoring of theoretical exams
- You coordinate and contribute to the continuing education teachings related to the programme
- You lead the educational engineering of the programme by developing and updating study frameworks, course content, and assessment methods
- You design and mark theoretical exams ensuring their validity, reliability, and alignment with educational objectives
- You manage the quality, governance, and formal administration of the programme, notably within accreditation procedures and the continuous improvement plan
- You chair and animate the formal committees of the programme and actively participate in the coordination bodies of the Training Centre
- You coordinate educational stakeholders, support training managers, and ensure the follow-up of professionals in training (PEF)
- You engage in exchanges with clinical supervision teams to strengthen coherence between educational requirements and field realities
- You represent, promote, and develop the programme by prospecting new practical training locations, participating in networking events, and contributing to the enhancement of the Training Centre's offerings.
Profile
- You hold a Bachelor’s degree in nursing or an equivalent qualification
- You have a Master’s degree in nursing sciences or an equivalent training
- You possess a postgraduate ES diploma in emergency care or in the speciality of the concerned programme
- You have at least 5 years of clinical experience in the specific field of the programme or an equivalent area
- You have at least 2 years of experience in the field of education
- Ideally, you hold a CAS in adult education or an equivalent qualification
- You are proficient with common office software tools
- You have good knowledge of scientific English; knowledge of German is an asset
- You demonstrate excellent pedagogical skills, a strong spirit of collaboration, and a real sense of organisation
- You are recognised for your rigour, autonomy, and ability to unite different partners around common goals.
