About the job
You lead the Cantonal Police strategically, operationally, and in terms of personnel, in collaboration with the command staff of the Cantonal Police and in close coordination with the department management, and further develop it. You develop strategic and operational objectives for the police service and implement them consistently. You ensure sustainable personnel, organisational, and cultural development of the Cantonal Police and advocate for the continued strengthening of an attractive and professional police force. You create optimal conditions for the cooperation of the police corps and ensure the prerequisites for effective and efficient coordination between all departments as well as for the professional fulfilment of all police tasks. You maintain contact with authorities, partner organisations, and other institutions and represent the interests of the Cantonal Police in public. You represent the Cantonal Police in regional and national committees, commissions, specialist groups, and projects and promote beneficial and forward-looking collaboration. You are responsible for enforcing federal legislation and cantonal laws within your area of competence.
You possess strong communication skills, high social competence, familiarity with modern leadership and management methods, good business knowledge, and a confident demeanour. You also hold a completed university degree, preferably with a focus on law or business administration (university/university of applied sciences level). Preferably, you have completed officer training with the police and/or the army. You are an honest and team-oriented individual with pronounced organisational and leadership abilities. You have experience in developing and implementing new strategies and projects and preferably have knowledge of future-oriented developments in the security sector or police. You are digitally savvy, proactive, and resilient.
