Environment
Our company is involved, among other things, in the development, production, and distribution of high-quality, high-performance LED systems for professional and semi-professional applications. For our own needs as well as for customers, we operate a small, professional, provider-grade data center with our own NOC (Network Operations Center) based on Windows, Linux, and VMware ESXi. The system is particularly secured due to legal data protection (e.g., patient data). Tasks
- You maintain our data center, the clients (Thin-/Thick/BYOD), and the peripherals.
- Perform updates, upgrades, and rollouts in the client/server/private cloud environment
- Maintain documentation
- Test, validate, and modify security functions using specialized software
- Maintain and extend the functionality of our numerous system monitoring scripts
- Assist in the training of apprentices
- Bachelor/Master/FH/TU/ETH in Computer Science, specializing in network and system technology with at least 3-4 years of professional experience (references are essential)
- Network technology/routing/VPN/SSL (IPv4)
- VMware ESXi hypervisor (server, client, and converter)
- Windows Server 2003: 2012 R2 (including domains, policies, DNS/DDNS, and terminal services)
- Windows PC (XPSP3, Vista, Win7/8.1/10)
- Linux (Debian, Redhat-Enterprise/Cygwin)
- Modern storage technologies such as iSCSI-SAN, NAS,
- Exim/UW-IMAP,
- Inetd,
- Apache
- MS-IIS (including SSL)
- Exchange (2007-2016)
- Acronis Backup for Servers (Windows, Linux, VMware)
- Windows Backup (wbadmin)
- Microsoft BITS (absolutely mandatory!)
- MS Batch, HTA/JavaScript, and Bash shell scripting
- If possible, some C/C++ and Java
- RDBMS (MySQL, MSSQL, File-DB)
- PHP
- 3CX VoIP phone system V11-V14 (SIP)
- Ability to work in a structured manner according to tasks, priorities, and AVOR documentation and to create such documentation.
- Didactic skills
- Knowledge of typical operational processes in a manufacturing company (including ERP/FIBU, etc.)
