familea is a socially responsible association with a 125-year tradition in the Basel area. In over 40 day-care centres, we care for around 3,000 children. We operate children’s and youth homes, the Foster Care Centre, and a social and legal advice service for women. Our services strengthen families, children, and women. They promote the compatibility of family and work, contribute to equal opportunities and integration. With over 900 employees - including around 200 trainees and students - we are a recognised and significant professional and training institution in the social sector.
As part of our extended service agreement with BS/BL, we are looking to expand our team at the Foster Care Centre with a
Social Worker 70-90% by arrangement
The core tasks include the professional support of foster care relationships as well as the training and placement of foster families.
Your tasks:
- Coaching and advising foster care relationships through regular phone calls and home visits
- Interdisciplinary collaboration
- Case documentation
- Placement: Managing the process from placement request through matching to admission
- Moderating foster parent groups
- Support in marketing to acquire new foster families and in public relations
Your profile:
- Completed degree in Social Work or Social Pedagogy FH/HF or equivalent studies
- Several years of professional experience in the context of out-of-home care for children and adolescents
- Pedagogical expertise
- Preferably experience in psychiatric or psychological settings or in adult education, ideally also counselling experience
- Willingness to work occasional early evening shifts (1-2 times per month)
- Willingness to take on telephone on-call duties
- Strong administrative skills as well as networked thinking and acting
- Good oral and written expression in German
- Good knowledge of MS Office applications
- Confident manner, proactive and communicative
- Driving licence category B
- High degree of personal responsibility, self-management and very good organisational skills
- Structural flexibility and proactive attitude towards change
- Minimum age 30 years
