Video Stage Manager at 80%

Tasks and Responsibilities

You support and provide technical assistance for receptions and creations, to ensure the smooth running of the event, notably by participating in setups, teardowns, rehearsals and performances. You manage the video control, adjustments and smooth running of the shows, especially when you are responsible for the general stage management. You follow the technical sheets of receptions and creations, and participate in the preparation of Show files (cues and media), as well as archiving materials. You maintain and check the proper functioning of La Comédie’s equipment, whether rented or loaned, while participating in the annual inventory. You propose and participate in choices when purchasing equipment, and manage, in collaboration with the Technical Direction, requests for quotes and order follow-up. You support and train auxiliaries and apprentices employed by the institution.

Profile and Required Skills

You hold a Federal VET Diploma as a Stage Technician, or an equivalent qualification or proven experience in the use and mastery of video technologies. You have experience in the performing arts sector, notably in using tools such as cameras, projectors and the main video control software (Q-Lab, MadMapper and Millumin). Good spoken and technical English skills are an asset. You are adaptable, solution-oriented and enjoy working in multidisciplinary teams. The hours are irregular, linked to the institution’s programming. You may be required to go on tours in Switzerland and internationally. While technical skills and experience are essential for this position, La Comédie de Genève values human skills and respect for the values of hospitality and open-mindedness.
