Role:
Security does not arise from documentation but from code and configuration. This is exactly where you come in as a Cloud Security Automation Engineer, hardening a growing Azure platform at the subscription, network, and identity levels. You design security architectures, assess attack surfaces, and embed guardrails directly into the deployment process. A central cyber security team provides you with support; the technical implementation is your responsibility.
Responsibilities:
You develop security architectures for cloud workloads and implement policies, baselines, and guardrails technically.
Threat modelling, vulnerability analyses, and risk assessments for the platform are part of your daily routine.
You define preventive controls and embed them declaratively via Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
Furthermore, you accompany cloud projects in protection requirement determination and solution design.
Additionally, you maintain security concepts, standards, and technical reference architectures.
You also document your solutions thoroughly and keep engineering teams professionally up to date.
Qualifications:
A completed degree in computer science or cyber security forms your foundation, complemented by relevant certifications.
Several years of experience in security roles with a clear cloud focus distinguish you.
You are familiar with hyperscaler technologies in detail, including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS services and the associated security services.
You are proficient in automation with Git, Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines.
Offensive security such as audits, penetration testing, or CTFs appeals to you. Experience with Kubernetes or identity and access management (IAM) is a plus.
You are also confident with frameworks such as ISO/IEC 270xx or NIST and communicate fluently in German and English.
