Medical secretary for the Interventional Psychiatry Unit
The Department of Psychiatry at CHUV is looking for a medical secretary at a 40% activity rate for the Interventional Psychiatry Unit. The workplace is located in Prilly (Cery site), on a permanent contract. The starting date is scheduled for 1 August 2026 or to be agreed.
Context
The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is one of the 5 Swiss university hospitals. In collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, it plays a leading role in care, research and education.
Interventional psychiatry is a branch of psychiatry that includes various methods of brain stimulation and modulation. These methods complement current standard treatments in psychiatry and psychotherapy. They include electroconvulsive therapy (ECT), repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) and ketamine infusions.
This unit is associated with the University Service of Psychiatry of Advanced Age (SUPAA), a specialised service whose mission is to ensure care, teaching and research in the field of psychiatry for the elderly. This mandate is entrusted to it by the Department of Health and Social Action. It is led by Professor Armin von Gunten.
Mission
- You ensure telephone reception of the unit's patients
- You guarantee the administrative management of patients and handle admissions, updating patient data, and entering services
- You prepare medical files in anticipation of treatments
- You maintain medical records and ensure proofreading for correction of various documents in the file (consultation letters, discharge letters, reports, ...)
- You coordinate and organise appointments with patients and the responsible physician
- You provide support to collaborators and colleagues for various administrative tasks
- You manage mail and its distribution.
Profile
- You hold a Federal VET Diploma as a commercial employee, ideally complemented by a medical secretary diploma
- You have at least 3 years of experience in autonomous medical secretarial work
- You have perfect command of French, both spoken and written (a foreign language is an asset)
- You possess excellent mastery of common IT tools
- You have a service-oriented mindset and appreciate working in a multidisciplinary team
- You demonstrate empathy, flexibility and excellent organisational skills
- You ideally know the functioning of Vaud state structures and parapublic bodies related to the psychiatric field.
