For an exciting and long-term network project in the Baden area, we are looking immediately or by arrangement for an experienced Network Engineer specialising in Cisco LAN & Switching.

Job description:
- Provisioning and commissioning of around 70 Cisco Access Switches
- Execution of Plug-and-Play provisioning (PnP) via Cisco Catalyst Center
- Control and verification of the deployed switch configurations
- Performing configuration adjustments and troubleshooting as needed
- Working with CLI Templates and existing network standards
- Configuration and support in the area of Layer-2 networks, VLANs, subnets, gateways and switching
- Support with stacking Cisco Catalyst 9200 and 9500 switches
- Maintenance of IP addresses and network entries in IP Address Management (IPAM)
- Creation and updating of network diagrams with Microsoft Visio
- Technical documentation of implemented network components and changes
- Depending on experience, support in the area of Cisco Wireless, Access Points and Cisco ISE
About the customer:
In this role, you will support an extensive rollout of modern Cisco Catalyst network components and take over the provisioning, configuration, verification and documentation of the network environment. We are looking for a reliable and independent individual who enjoys hands-on work and contributes in a professional enterprise network environment.
Framework conditions:
- Start: immediately or by arrangement
- Duration: until 28 February 2027
- Workload: initially approx. 60% / 3 full working days per week
- There is the possibility to increase the workload to up to 100% during the project
- Work location: mainly Baden
- The activity currently takes place entirely on site; remote work is currently not planned
- A security clearance (PSP) will be conducted for the assignment. The corresponding requirements must be met.
Requirements:
You have practical experience as a Network Engineer, Cisco Network Engineer, LAN Engineer or Network Administrator and feel particularly comfortable in the Cisco environment.
Ideally, you bring the following skills:
- Good knowledge in Cisco Switching and Layer 2
- Experience with Cisco Catalyst 9000, especially Catalyst 9200 and/or 9500
- Confident handling of the Cisco CLI
- Understanding of VLANs, subnets, gateways, broadcast domains and basic routing concepts
- Experience with checking, adjusting and troubleshooting switch configurations
- Knowledge in Switch Stacking
- Independent, structured and reliable working style
Knowledge in the following is an advantage:
- Cisco Catalyst Center / Cisco DNA Center
- Plug and Play (PnP)
- CLI Templates in Catalyst Center
- Infoblox / IPAM
- Cisco Wireless / Access Points
- Cisco ISE
- Microsoft Visio and network documentation
Not all the mentioned technologies need to be fully mastered yet. What matters is a solid Cisco networking foundation and the willingness to quickly acquire any missing knowledge.
