Teacher for Latin
Bündner Kantonsschule | 30–50 % | Chur
The Bündner Kantonsschule is an important educational institution with around 1,000 students of all three cantonal languages. As a department of the Office for Higher Education, it offers secondary school education programs at the long- and short-term gymnasium as well as at the specialized, commercial, and computer science secondary schools. As a teacher for Latin, you will teach students at the gymnasium.
We are looking for a teacher for Latin for our school starting August 1, 2026.
Your area of responsibility
- Teaching in the subject area of Latin as a foundational subject with promotion effect at the lower gymnasium level as well as an elective subject at the gymnasium, which concludes with the Latin exam "Latinum Helveticum" recognized by the Swiss Maturity Commission (SMK)
- Organization and implementation of project weeks, class events, and excursions in a team with other teachers
- Taking on various tasks within the subject department
- Participation in development projects of the entire school
What we expect from you
- Completed university degree in the teaching subject Latin as well as a teaching diploma for maturity schools
- Teaching experience at secondary level II and a qualification in another subject are advantageous
- Flexible, proactive, and team-oriented personality who enjoys working with young people. We also expect a communicative person who takes responsibility and is happy to engage in school life
- As a teacher at the trilingual school, knowledge of other cantonal languages completes your profile
