BI - General Secretariat
Staff Officer 80 - 100%
The General Secretariat is the staff unit of the Education Directorate. Around 80 employees provide central services for the Director and the offices. The General Secretariat includes the departments of Political Planning and Communication, Specialist and Legal Services, Finance and Digital, Construction, Personnel and Services, as well as Educational Planning. Here, the affairs and projects of the entire Education Directorate are coordinated.
To support the leadership of the Secretary-General and the Deputy Secretary-General, we are looking for a staff officer from 1 January 2027 or by arrangement.
Your Area of Responsibility
Are you looking for a challenge at the heart of Zurich’s education policy? In this staff role, you support the Secretary-General in coordinating and organising cross-departmental and cross-office affairs and processes, prepare and follow up on meetings of the Secretary-General and the Deputy Secretary-General, and take on the preparation and revision of matters. The role also includes researching information and preparing decision-making bases, drafting written documents on behalf of the Secretary-General or the Deputy Secretary-General, as well as assisting in organising retreats and larger events.
Your Profile
You hold a university degree and bring experience from the public sector at the interface with politics. You have a good understanding of the processes in public administration and political procedures and are characterised by your careful, efficient, and service-oriented working style. You work independently, in a structured and responsible manner. You enjoy collaborating with various stakeholders and networking with people, which is why you are confident in dealing with different contacts and hierarchical levels.
Our Offer
You can expect a newly created and versatile position with scope for creativity. You operate at the interface between administration and politics and work with various areas of the Education Directorate.
We offer you a collegial and interdisciplinary working environment, flexible working hours, and a centrally located workplace in close proximity to Zurich main station.
