Senior Network & Firewall Specialist (m/f/d)

Role:
You do not think of network and security separately but as a whole. In this position, you bring exactly this attitude and shape the architecture with your expertise. As a Senior Network & Firewall Specialist, you take responsibility for stable connections and a resilient security landscape. You make technical decisions based on sound reasoning and justify them comprehensibly. A workload of 80 to 100% gives you room for a good balance.
Responsibilities:
You design network architectures for data centres, cloud connections, and site networking and implement them
You ensure the operation of Palo Alto and Fortinet firewalls and continuously optimise rule sets
Additionally, you further develop remote access and identity-based access solutions
You proactively monitor the infrastructure and resolve complex issues at the third-level support
You advise internal teams and external partners on security-related matters
Furthermore, you document concepts and processes and occasionally conduct maintenance windows outside regular working hours
Qualifications:
Several years of experience as an engineer in the network and security field characterise your career
You have a degree in computer science or electrical engineering or an equivalent further education
You bring solid know-how in network security, routing & switching, and Microsoft Azure networking
Furthermore, automation with Python or Ansible and certifications such as CCNP or NSE are familiar to you
You explain complex matters clearly and gladly take ownership of your topics
Additionally, you communicate confidently in German and feel at home in English-speaking exchanges
