Role:

You think of networks not in individual devices but in architectures. In this position, as a Senior Routing & Switching Engineer, you are responsible for the technical direction of LAN, WAN, WLAN, and network security across all locations. Your decisions determine how stable, secure, and scalable the infrastructure of tomorrow functions. Other engineers seek your advice on tricky questions and benefit from your experience.

Responsibilities:

• You develop scalable and redundant network architectures and are responsible for complex routing and switching designs with Border Gateway Protocol (BGP), OSPF, and well-thought-out segmentation.

• In major incidents, you take on the technical leadership and investigate causes through root cause analysis.

• You actively shape security zones, policies, and ACLs within the framework of the firewall architecture and optimise site-to-site VPN connections.

• Furthermore, you drive network migrations and site integrations forward and test new technologies in proof of concepts.

• You evaluate capacities, traffic flows, and latencies and specifically expand the observability of the infrastructure.

• Additionally, you set technical standards for switching, DNS, DHCP, and certificate handling and establish best practices within the team.

Qualifications:

• At least five years of experience in designing and operating demanding enterprise networks form your foundation.

• You are proficient in complex routing scenarios and know redistribution and route selection in detail.

• Network segmentation, trunking, spanning tree, and IPv6 are familiar territory for you.

• You have extensive experience with enterprise firewalls, NAT, and remote access VPN and understand the underlying security concepts.

• Furthermore, you reliably find errors using logs, routing analyses, and packet captures with Wireshark.

• You also impress with networked thinking and always keep the interactions between applications, systems, and networks in view.
