Networks form the backbone of every stable IT landscape, and this is exactly where your work as a Security & Network Engineer begins. You actively shape the network infrastructure, ensure stability, and consider security from the outset. As a technical contact person, you bring in-depth knowledge and work closely with system and security engineers. Those who appreciate responsibility and enjoy delving into complex architectures will find a challenging environment here.
Responsibilities:
You plan, implement, and operate the company-wide network infrastructure consisting of LAN, WAN, and WLAN
You configure the firewall landscape and continuously develop it further
You analyse network environment disruptions and resolve them in 2nd and 3rd level support
You maintain network documentation, standards, and operating concepts and expand them further
Additionally, you advise internal stakeholders on network and security issues
Furthermore, you promote collaboration and technical knowledge transfer within the IT department
Qualifications:
You have a completed bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a comparable qualification
Several years of professional experience as a network engineer are part of your profile
You possess in-depth knowledge in several areas such as firewall, routing, switching, VLAN, VPN, DNS, or certificate handling
You are proficient in protocols like OSPF and BGP as well as basics of system security
You also impress with self-organisation, prioritisation skills, and a high quality awareness
Communication skills in German and English complete your profile, as does willingness for occasional work outside office hours
