Packaging Engineer (all genders)
General Information:

Tasks & Responsibilities
- Provide expert knowledge in packaging processes, materials, and design
- Represent Technical Services in cross-functional and joint process teams
- Ensure compliance with global standards, regulatory requirements, and GMP guidelines
- Manage and support change control activities for assigned products
- Oversee and review manufacturing documentation (e.g., SOPs, master batch records, process instructions)
- Prepare and contribute to technical reports, including process performance updates and project status
- Participate in site visits to external manufacturing partners to assess capabilities and resolve technical issues
- Ensure appropriate control strategies are established and maintained for all assigned products
- Identify and drive continuous improvement initiatives based on data analysis and process knowledge
- Support the preparation and review of Annual Product Reviews (APR/PQR)
- Contribute to technical documentation for regulatory submissions, inspections, and audits
- Lead or support product transfers, tech transfers, and new product introductions
- Support investigations related to deviations, complaints, and process issues
- Act as the primary technical contact for assigned external manufacturing partners
Your Profile:
- Advanced degree (or equivalent experience) in Life Sciences or Engineering (e.g., Pharmacy, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Packaging Engineering)
- 5–10 years of experience in pharmaceutical, chemical, or related manufacturing environments
- Proven experience in technical services, manufacturing science, or packaging technologies
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and packaging systems
- Sound knowledge of GMP, quality systems, and regulatory requirements
- Experience in process validation, change control, and process monitoring
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to apply statistical tools to solve complex problems
- Experience with technical transfer and product lifecycle management
- Strong project management and organizational capabilities
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work in cross-functional, international, and external partner environments
- Confident in presenting and defending technical positions
- Structured problem-solving mindset with attention to detail
- Fluency in English; additional European languages are an advantage
- Willingness to travel internationally (approx. 10–30%)
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
