Shape the Security Operations Centre of the Canton of BL

Your responsibility

• Coordination and assurance of the operation of the cantonal SOC services, implementation of proactive measures (e.g. planning of threat hunts) as well as preparation of regular reports and participation in audits
• Coordination between members of the SOC organisation/IT operations, the external MSSP (Managed Security Service Provider), IT security and IT management
• Control, quality assurance, escalation and continuous development of SOC services, optimisation of operational processes
• Leading participation in projects aimed at the further development and optimisation of SOC services
• Ensuring monitoring and coordination of security incidents (incident response)
• Participation in the continuous optimisation of operational IT security in close cooperation with internal and external bodies
• Responsibility for budget and cost planning as well as contract and supplier management
• Taking on tasks in operational operations during the SOC build-up phase (e.g. analysis, assessment and handling of potential security incidents)

Your background

• Degree (Master’s Uni/FH) in Computer Science / Business Informatics / IT Security or an equivalent qualification
• Relevant certifications in the field of IT security (e.g. CISSP, CISM, GCIH/GCIA etc.) as well as in project management (HERMES 2022, IPMA or comparable)
• Sound, proven knowledge and professional experience in information security, especially in the areas of SOC, vulnerability management, threat intelligence/hunting
• Proven experience in Windows and Linux environments as well as experience with SOC tools (e.g. SIEM, SOAR, XDR etc.)
• Several years of solid experience in the management/coordination of an SOC are advantageous
• Strong service orientation combined with communication skills, assertiveness and a high sense of responsibility
• Systematic, goal-oriented and efficient working style as well as excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Curiosity about current trends and developments in cyber security as well as new attack techniques and protective measures; very good German and English skills, spoken and written

Central IT is the competence and service centre of the cantonal administration for IT matters. It supports the State Chancellery, the directorates and the courts in economically, efficiently and effectively fulfilling their tasks through digitalisation and automation. The range of services includes the implementation of cross-directorate digitalisation projects, ensuring basic IT services, providing business applications and managing information security.
