What to expect
- You design, develop and operate scalable ETL and ELT pipelines for structured and unstructured data
- You develop robust data processing solutions with Python, SQL and frameworks such as PySpark or Pandas
- You design and optimise data lakes, cloud data warehouses and data models for analytics and machine learning applications
- You automate workflows and batch processes with orchestration technologies such as Apache Airflow, Dagster, Prefect or AWS Step Functions
- You implement automated quality controls and ensure the secure, correct and traceable processing of customer, financial and insurance data
- You optimise queries, storage and computing power and balance scalability, reliability and cloud costs
- You work with analysts, data scientists, machine learning engineers and insurance professionals and translate data requirements into sustainable solutions
What you bring
- You have a university degree in computer science, data engineering, software engineering or a comparable field or equivalent professional experience
- You have several years of practical experience in building productive data solutions as well as very good Python and SQL skills
- You have developed data solutions on a leading cloud platform, ideally AWS; solid experience with Azure or Google Cloud is also welcome
- You are familiar with relational and dimensional data modelling, data lakes and modern platforms such as AWS Glue, Redshift, Snowflake or Databricks
- You work confidently with Git, automated tests, CI/CD, Docker and infrastructure as code such as Terraform or CloudFormation
- You act with a quality focus and understand the importance of data security, governance, observability and reliable production operation
- Experience with AWS data services or sensitive data in insurance, finance or another regulated environment is an advantage but not a requirement
- You have very good German and good English skills; knowledge of French or Italian is an advantage
