The sbv achieves this goal through education and representing their interests in public, through counselling and raising awareness, as well as promoting innovative technologies.

Social Worker 40% (m/f/d)

Your tasks

• Advising blind and visually impaired people as well as their relatives.
• Initiating and accompanying administrative procedures related to social benefits to which people with visual impairments may be entitled.
• Coordinating rehabilitation measures with the various parties involved (specialists in low vision, orientation and mobility, activities of daily living, job coaching, doctors, schools, employers, and insurance companies).
• Individual support and assistance in social and professional rehabilitation.
• Informing and raising awareness among the public and professional circles about the needs of blind and visually impaired people, as well as representing them to authorities and specialist agencies.

Your profile

• Completed studies in social work (FH/HES) or an equivalent qualification as a social worker.
• Several years of professional experience as a social worker.
• German or French at native level with very good knowledge of the other language (bilingual activity).
• Good knowledge of social insurance, especially IV and AHV.
• Experience in supporting and rehabilitating people with disabilities.
• Interest in interdisciplinary collaboration and networking.
• Ability to analyse complex situations related to social and professional integration and to develop solutions.
• Knowledge of the Fribourg health and social network.
• You hold a driving licence.
