Member of the AMB Executive Board | Chief of Staff Cantonal Command Staff

Your responsibility :

• You lead the Operations Department with the divisions of Operations Management as well as Operations and Contingency Planning.
• You are responsible for the cantonal contingency planning and operational doctrine of the cantonal civil protection and continuously develop these further.
• You are responsible for the deployments of the Civil Protection Operational Unit (EVB). This unites nine cantonal operational resources: Care Team, Emergency Hotline, Personnel Management Team, CBRN Defence, Oil Defence, Rhine Rescue, Civil Protection Company, Engineering Team and Civil Protection Helicopter Support.
• As Chief of Staff of the Cantonal Command Staff (KFS), you take on a central leadership role in managing major events and emergencies and work closely with partner organisations, municipalities, cantons, the federal government and the army.
• You lead and support IT and procurement projects.
• You represent the office in cantonal, national and trinational specialist and working groups.

Your background :

• You have a master’s degree and proven conceptual skills as well as experience in project management, preferably according to HERMES.
• You have a strong understanding of business management contexts.
• As an experienced leader, you combine strategic thinking with a strong commitment to operational deployment.
• You lead confidently even under time pressure, make clear decisions and know how to bring together different organisations and specialist areas.
• You have experience in project management, preferably in IT, digitalisation and procurement projects.
• You are at least an officer of leadership level 2 in a partner organisation of civil protection or an officer of the Swiss Army with proven operational experience.
• We expect high resilience as well as willingness to be deployed outside regular working hours.

Office for Military and Civil Protection (AMB)

The Office for Military and Civil Protection (AMB) is an operational, training and administrative organisation. The AMB is an office with around 50 employees within the Security Directorate of the Canton of Basel-Landschaft.
The AMB is responsible for the deployments of the Civil Protection Operational Unit, the training in civil protection as well as of personnel and cadres in civil protection. Administrative tasks include, among others, army duties on behalf of the federal government or the operation of the Liestal barracks. Furthermore, the AMB prepares operational and contingency planning and provides logistics and administrative services.
