The Directorate for Civil Engineering, Transport and Urban Green ensures an attractive public space. Civil Engineering City of Bern is the owner and builder/operator of all municipal civil engineering infrastructures.

What you will achieve

  • Lead transport projects, primarily the implementation of traffic light systems
  • Assess technology trends and upgrade existing systems with modern components and innovative solutions.
  • Help shape the establishment and operation of a municipal traffic management system
  • Comprehensive project responsibility: accompany projects from traffic planning (preliminary study phase) to commissioning and watch projects grow from idea to reality on the street

What you bring

  • University of Applied Sciences degree or certified technician HF or comparable qualifications
  • Experience in project management, preferably in transport solutions or transport infrastructures
  • Expertise in traffic engineering and/or computer science
  • Highly solution-oriented working style, interconnected thinking as well as customer-oriented and independent action
  • Contact and communication skills as well as a confident manner, which make it easy for you to connect with internal and external contacts
