Tasks
Organise cleaning: In your daily work, you plan the resources for a wide variety of cleaning assignments. You are responsible for cleanliness in your area and thus make a significant contribution to quality of life. In addition, you are willing to carry out cleaning work yourself.
Lead team: You take responsibility for a team of around 12 employees and increase the employees’ self-competence through targeted support.
Lead special operations: On a cycle of about 6 weeks, you lead a team of around 30 employees in weekend and public holiday cleaning. In addition, you carry out individual work assignments at various events.
Ensure winter service: In winter, you provide on-call service and ensure passable roads as well as walkable and safe common areas during winter service deployment.
Live project organisation: A part of your workload is carried out in topic-related project organisations.
Profile
Experience: You have proven experience in leading operational teams and are proficient in the use of common MS Office programmes. Ideally, you have experience in participating in projects. In addition, you know the city of Basel and its local conditions well.
Personality: With your positive basic attitude, you inspire others with ideas and create a positive working atmosphere. You have a good technical understanding and show a high willingness to change. You enjoy working outdoors and always present yourself in a service-oriented and courteous manner to our stakeholders.
Education: We require a completed craft or technical vocational training. In addition, you hold a category B driving licence.
Language: You have a confident command of the German language, both spoken and written.

The Civil Engineering Office coordinates, plans, builds, documents and maintains the roads with the associated infrastructures and is responsible for the public sewage systems. It is responsible for flood protection and safe traffic routes. It also coordinates the use of public space and is the lead authority in the approval process. It collects and disposes of waste and ensures cleanliness in the city of Basel. The Civil Engineering Office makes an important contribution to a high quality of life in Basel and is part of the Department of Construction and Transport.
