We are looking immediately or by arrangement for CONTACT take a way in Bern for a
Chef / Cook EFZ with Flair for Hospitality, 30-40 %
CONTACT take a way is a work offer aimed at young adults in special life situations who want to gain work experience in a commercially run business and acquire the necessary social, communicative and professional skills in a protected environment.
The Bistrot take a way offers freshly prepared meals from Monday to Friday at lunchtime. We have 20 seats and additionally sell between 60 and 80 takeaway menus. In the evening, the bistrot is occasionally rented out to groups for aperitifs and tavolatas. We are looking for a flexible person who enjoys creative cooking and can cover the lunch service in the kitchen on a fixed 1-2 days per week. This also includes absence and holiday cover as well as possible evening shifts (aperitifs and independent preparation of tavolatas).
Your tasks are:
- Joint menu planning with the kitchen manager
- Creation, preparation and presentation of lunch menus (mainly vegetarian, always healthy and fresh)
- Guidance of young adults in the preparation of food
- Purchasing and ordering
- Shifts / cover at the buffet and in service
- Record keeping, HACCP
- Cleaning duties in kitchen / bistrot / storage
You bring / you are:
- Training as a chef EFZ with several years of experience
- Experience in service/front of house desirable
- Creative, resourceful, flexible
- Familiar with hygiene regulations
- Interest in working with and possibly experience with (young) adults
- A responsible and service-oriented personality
- Willingness to work extra hours for evening events, catering, holiday cover
- High social competence
- Driving licence an advantage
- Progressive employment and working conditions according to GAV
- Salary according to cantonal guidelines
- Work in a small, flexible and motivated team
- Meaningful activity in a social institution
