To strengthen our Database team, we are looking for a PostgreSQL Database Specialist.

Your playground

• You support our customers in all matters related to PostgreSQL, from the initial idea to stable operation.
• You advise on the introduction and further development of PostgreSQL database systems and take on the design and implementation of scalable architectures, on-premise or in the cloud.
• You analyse performance issues, optimise existing systems and find solutions even in complex environments.
• Deployment, migration and operation are just as much part of your daily routine as topics around backup, recovery and security.
• You actively contribute your knowledge, exchanging ideas with the team, in tech talks or directly with the customer.
• You participate in the on-call organisation. Deployments outside working hours are the exception, not the rule.
• You can work flexibly, at the customer site, in the office and remotely.

You bring with you

• You have experience with PostgreSQL, in operation, optimisation and development.
• You are well versed in SQL, performance tuning and database design.
• You work confidently on Linux systems and have experience with automation, for example with Shell, Ansible or Terraform.
• Ideally, you have already carried out migrations, for example from Oracle to PostgreSQL.
• You understand topics such as replication, clustering and backup concepts.
• Experience with containers or Kubernetes is a plus, but not a must.
• Ideally, you are familiar with other databases, e.g. Oracle.
• You keep your knowledge up to date through conference attendance, community exchange or self-initiated further training.
• You think analytically, work precisely and have a strong customer orientation.
• You communicate confidently in German and English.
