Company Description
Description of FASe
The Geneva Foundation for Sociocultural Animation (FASe) is a partner institution, funded by the Canton and the municipalities, whose mission is to promote and maintain social cohesion in the canton of Geneva, that is to ensure the quality of the relationship between individuals and society. Through socio-educational, sociocultural and associative field actions carried out by centres and outreach teams, the Foundation meets the population's needs in terms of meeting, exchange, solidarity, citizenship, quality of life, with the general aim of preventing social exclusion.
Description of Les Créateliers
The association Les Créateliers is convinced that manual creative activity is a vector of personal development that stimulates each person’s ability to think and act. It promotes the creation of social bonds, while improving self-knowledge and knowledge of others to contribute to social change and the emergence of solidarity, cooperation and collective intelligence. The association Les Créateliers organises workshops and courses, during which techniques and know-how are transmitted, as well as socio-educational activities and sociocultural animations with the aim of prevention and improving quality of life.
The association is subsidised by the City of Geneva as well as by the Canton of Geneva. Courses for children are subsidised, whereas courses for adults are self-financed and generate a surplus used for various activities. The association is considered by the City of Geneva as a leisure centre. The animation team as well as its administrative and cleaning staff are paid by FASe, which is also responsible for coordinating recruitment for these roles. The teachers who teach within Les Créateliers are, however, paid by the association.
