About the job
Permanent position
Water Supply
As a centre of expertise, we make an important contribution to the drinking water supply for over one million people. We operate in a dynamic environment that encompasses both public and private law issues. To provide legal support to the management and main departments, as well as to build up our own legal service in the medium term, we are looking for a recognised specialist. If you enjoy a varied role with a high degree of personal responsibility and freedom to shape your work, we look forward to receiving your complete application.
Tasks
- You are the central contact person for the water supply on legal matters and advise the management and main departments on legal issues.
- In close coordination with the legal service of the Department of Industrial Enterprises, you ensure that legal requirements are always met.
- You draft, review and negotiate contracts of all kinds, accompany the preparation and follow-up of notarizations and easements, and support the responsible internal departments in tenders and submissions.
- Your tasks also include analysing consultations and political initiatives at the city, cantonal and federal levels, for which you prepare well-founded statements representing the interests of the water supply.
- You contribute your legal expertise specifically to the further development of internal regulations and also have the opportunity, if necessary, to participate strategically in city-wide projects or to provide valuable input in committees.
Profile
- You have a university degree in law with several years of professional experience in public administration, preferably with a lawyer’s licence.
- You bring both sound knowledge and practical experience in public law as well as private law.
- You are an open and proactive personality who thinks in a networked and structured way, enjoys working independently and acts in a solution-oriented manner.
- Your integrity and convincing manner are complemented by clear and appreciative communication (confident German in spoken and written form).
We offer
- Plenty of freedom to shape your role in a collegial and agile working environment.
- The attractive employment package of the City of Zurich.
- Flexible working arrangements and extensive training opportunities.
- A modern infrastructure with good public transport connections.
