We are a modern police force with around 85 employees who ensure safety and order as well as the protection of the population every day. Committed employees, professional communication and a trusting interaction with our stakeholders form the basis of our actions.
To strengthen our team, we are looking for a committed individual as
Communication & HR Specialist 80–100 %
from 1 September 2026 or by arrangement, based in Glarus.
Tasks
Communication and media work (main area of responsibility)
- Overall responsibility for media work and representation of the cantonal police
- Handling media enquiries (print, online, radio and TV)
- Advising the corps management and employees on communication matters as well as support in crisis situations
- Professional leadership of the social media officers and further development of digital communication
- Training of management and employees in dealing with the media and the public
HR and staff
- Support for the Head of Staff Services in personnel-related matters
- Recruitment of police officers, civilian employees and police aspirants
- Participation in personnel acquisition, personnel development and employer positioning
- Coordination of external training and further education as well as support of the interface to the police school
- Participation in projects and specialist groups
Requirements
- Federal specialist certificate for police officer or an equivalent qualification at specialist certificate level with completed vocational training or A-levels
- Ideally experience in media work and willingness for targeted further training
- Professional and life-experienced personality with confident appearance and high service orientation
- Interest in HR topics and personnel law issues
- Resilience, integrity and time flexibility (deployments outside office hours possible)
- Very good oral and written communication skills as well as independent and structured working style
