The Bostadel Correctional Facility in Menzingen is an independent public-law institution within the concordat of Northwestern and Central Switzerland with its own legal personality. It is operated by the cantons of Basel-Stadt and Zug and has 108 places in regular imprisonment and 12 places in a security department. Around 90 employees work at the JVA Bostadel, ensuring security within the institution and contributing to the meaningful occupation and resocialisation of the 120 inmates.

What to expect

• In this versatile and responsible role, you are a member of the extended management team. In addition to your regular duties in the security service, you take on additional responsibility in day-to-day organisation and support the responsible leaders in ensuring a safe and smooth operation of the institution.
• You accompany admissions and releases, visits, and transports, ensuring their correct handling.
• You monitor and accompany inmates in compliance with applicable safety regulations and considering dynamic security.
• You conduct checks and interventions appropriately and implement safety and enforcement guidelines fairly and consistently.
• You ensure an orderly flow of information and guarantee the structured handover of relevant information as well as the comprehensible documentation of operational processes and extraordinary events.

What you bring

• You are an honest, physically and mentally resilient individual with organisational talent, who keeps an overview and decides calmly even in demanding situations.
• Several years of experience in correctional services, ideally in closed imprisonment; Federal professional certificate in correctional services is an advantage; or willingness to complete the training.
• Clear communication, good German and PC user skills, and interest in the further development of operational processes.
• You have skills in de-escalation and self-defence.
• You are willing to work irregular shifts in a 24-hour operation, including night and weekend shifts as well as on-call duty.
• Impeccable reputation, driving licence category B, and minimum age of 25 years.
