Your Tasks
As Market Controller Switzerland (m/f/d), you will assume overall responsibility for statutory accounting as well as US GAAP accounting for Switzerland. In this central role, you will work closely with local and international finance teams as well as other company departments and ensure compliance with all relevant legal and internal group requirements.
Your tasks include in particular:
- Management of the local controllership function including the Principal Operating Company (POC), which encompasses more than 30 country general ledgers
- Financial management and monitoring of the Swiss business
- Responsibility for proper execution and reporting in the areas of:
- US GAAP accounting and closing processes
- Accruals and provisions
- Account reconciliations
- Financial closing and consolidation
- Management of procure-to-pay processes, including invoice and payment processing as well as travel expense accounting
- Monitoring of intercompany transactions and corresponding reconciliations
- Ensuring compliance with all global, regional and local policies, processes and governance requirements
- Support and implementation of standardisation and simplification initiatives within the finance organisation
- Preparation of quarterly and annual closing reports in accordance with group requirements
- Responsibility for the internal control system as well as SOX documentation and ensuring an effective control environment
- Close cooperation with the Group Controller as well as the global and regional centres of excellence teams
- Main contact for internal audits, compliance reviews as well as SOX and other audit activities
- Ensuring compliance with local accounting regulations for the Swiss companies
- Responsibility for statutory financial statements, tax accounting and audit processes
- Central contact for external auditors, tax authorities and external consultants
An essential success factor for this position is the effective coordination of all finance activities between the local requirements of the Swiss market and the global and regional finance organisations.
Collaboration and Interfaces
In this role, you will work closely with various internal and external stakeholders.
Internal
- Management and coordination of shared service centre teams in the areas of record-to-report (R2R), procure-to-pay (P2P) and order-to-cash (OTC) as well as in tax and statutory accounting matters
- Collaboration with FP&A and consolidation teams on closing planning, accounting services and group financial statements
- Close coordination with the Group Controller in the areas of compliance and governance
- Collaboration with revenue assurance teams on revenue-related issues
- Partnership with other functions such as human resources, facility management and internal audit
External
- Auditors and external consultants
- Tax authorities
Your Profile
- Successfully completed degree with a focus on finance, accounting or a comparable field
- Recognised national or international qualification in accounting, e.g. CA, ACCA, ACMA or equivalent
- Several years of professional experience in accounting, financial controlling or accounting within an internationally operating company
- Experience in auditing or public accounting is an advantage
- Experience in a Principal Operating Company (POC) model is desirable
- Sound knowledge of local accounting regulations as well as statutory closing and audit requirements, including local GAAP standards, annual financial statements, tax calculations and VAT returns
- Very good knowledge of US GAAP
- Knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) is an advantage
- Experience with SAP
- Confident handling of Microsoft Office
- Fluent English skills as well as fluent German or French skills (at least C1 level) are mandatory
- Strong communication skills, high team orientation and a confident appearance
- Structured, solution-oriented working style and strong leadership skills
The annual gross salary for this position ranges between CHF 112,700.00 and CHF 170,500.00. The specific salary classification depends on relevant professional experience, qualifications, competencies and internal compensation structures. We promote salary transparency and equal opportunities and make compensation decisions solely based on objective and gender-neutral criteria. Additionally, a variable remuneration, for example in the form of a performance- or sales-related bonus, may be granted for this position.
