Task

• Handle written inquiries from taxpayers and their representatives in French


• Provide telephone information for inquiries from Western Switzerland and the Italian-speaking part of Switzerland


• Draft legal opinions and internal administrative statements in French


• Process simple criminal proceedings for failure to submit VAT returns

• Master's degree in law; the degree was obtained less than a year before the start of the internship


• Willing to quickly acquire expertise in the field of value-added tax


• Independent working style and experience in using the MS-Office suite


• Very good knowledge of a second official language

Discover the world of taxes in the VAT main department. Within the scope of your activity, you will quickly acquire the necessary knowledge to provide taxpayers in the Italian-speaking and French-speaking parts of Switzerland with information on legal issues and thus contribute to the correct implementation of the VAT Act.

The Federal Tax Administration (FTA) is the federal competence center for tax matters. Thanks to VAT, direct federal tax, withholding tax, and stamp duties, it is responsible for the largest part of federal revenues. Its services include the proper application and enforcement of tax law, the further development of the tax system, and participation in international tax matters.
