About the job
R-Classics is a Swiss specialist for classic vehicles, youngtimers as well as selected luxury, high-end and special vehicles. At our location in the House of Legacy | Classic Car Centre Eastern Switzerland in St. Margrethen, we combine workshop, vehicle trade, storage, restoration projects and international vehicle logistics.
For the further expansion of our workshop, we are looking for a technically skilled, independent and quality-conscious personality.
We are open to different profiles: from the experienced classic car specialist with an existing network and in-depth expertise to a highly motivated professional who wants to take responsibility, develop further and actively help shape the growth of R-Classics.
Your tasks
- Carrying out service, maintenance and repair work on classic cars, youngtimers and special vehicles
- Diagnosing and resolving mechanical and technical problems
- Working on engines, gearboxes, clutches, brake systems, chassis and steering
- Repairing and replacing mechanical assemblies and wear parts
- Working on carburettor systems, mechanical injection systems and historic ignition systems
- Adjustment work on ignition, valve clearance, carburettors and other mechanical components
- Supporting engine, gearbox and unit overhauls
- Participating in restoration, repair and special projects
- Technical inspection and preparation of vehicles for sale, delivery and veteran inspection
- Conducting test drives, functional checks and quality inspections
- Accurate documentation of completed work, findings and used parts
- Supporting the technical assessment of vehicles and projects
- Collaboration with workshop management, parts suppliers and external specialists
- If experienced: managing own customer relationships and contributing an existing network
Your profile
- Completed training as an automotive mechatronics technician EFZ, automotive specialist EFZ or comparable technical training
- Experience with classic vehicles, youngtimers or special vehicles is an advantage
- Additional training as a vehicle restorer or comparable further education is an advantage
- Good knowledge of mechanical vehicle technology
- Experience with engines, gearboxes, carburettor or injection systems is an advantage
- Welding, bodywork or electrical knowledge is welcome but not mandatory
- Enjoyment of diagnostic work and technically demanding problem-solving
- Independent, structured and solution-oriented working style
- High quality standards and careful handling of high-value customer vehicles
- Initiative, strong sense of responsibility and willingness to independently drive topics forward
- Communicative and customer-oriented personality
- Very good German skills, English skills are an advantage
- Valid driving licence category B
