The Office for Youth and Career Counselling (AJB) is responsible for child and youth welfare as well as career counselling. At the heart of our work are children, young people and families. We dedicate ourselves to them daily with great passion and commitment.
The biz Horgen is one of seven career information centres in the canton of Zurich and supports young people and adults in the Horgen district in their career choice and development through individual consultations, diagnostic assessments, information events, seminars and the information centre. We are looking for from 1 January 2027 or by arrangement
a Career, Study and Vocational Counsellor 80%.
Your tasks:
You advise young people and their parents on their first career choice, collaborate with secondary schools and conduct class and parent orientations as well as school office hours. In addition to working with young people, you advise adults on career entry and career topics and conduct potential assessments for integration pre-apprenticeships. As part of the information centre service, you provide career information. Conducting information events and seminars is also part of your duties.
Your profile:
You have completed or are advanced in a federally recognised training in career, study and vocational counselling and preferably hold a degree in psychology. You possess broad counselling competence with sound knowledge of counselling methods, diagnostic tools and the labour market. You are keen to learn new things and engage with new media. You are very service- and quality-oriented, and a reliable, independent and responsible working style as well as good organisational and administrative skills characterise you. You communicate skilfully and conduct events with classes and parents confidently and competently.
