Software Tester – Data Migration & Test Automation

Job description:

• Create and execute test strategy and test cases for migration, integration, cut-over, rollback, and hypercare
• Reconcile migrated data with SQL and check for completeness, duplicates, and integrity
• Test the migration to TimescaleDB/TigerData, especially timestamps, time zones, data consistency, and time series logic
• Test business processes end-to-end via UI, API, workflow engine, and database, including error cases and permissions
• Deploy automated UI, API, and backend tests for critical processes and regressions
• Analyse errors, create traceable test evidence, and collaborate closely with development, business units, and operations

About the customer:

For our client, we are seeking an experienced person in software testing. In energy trading, an existing time series management system is being replaced by a newly developed solution. You will support the project team in thoroughly testing the data migration and business processes of the new system.

Requirements:

• More than five years of practical experience in software testing, ideally with complex system or data migrations
• Very good knowledge of SQL and PostgreSQL as well as experience with data validation and database testing
• Experience with migration tests, source-to-target reconciliations, and end-to-end tests
• Practical experience in test automation of UI, API, or backend processes
• Knowledge of TimescaleDB/TigerData and time series data is particularly relevant
• Analytical, meticulous, and independent working style as well as clear communication in German and/or English
